Root MI4I [100% Working] With TWRP and SuperSu

In this article, we will demo you how to root MI4I with TWRP and SuperSu. We have documented everything for you to root your Xiaomi MI4I.

Understanding the terms
TWRP- Its a Recovery Software this passes extra security layers while flashing or update something like zip or ROM. WE Will show install Cwm with a recovery.img file.

SUPERSU – this will manage root permission to apps.

How to root Mi4i

We will provide you ADB and FastBoot files. And recovery.img file to install CWM recovery.
we divided the process into some segments for ease. follow them step by step.

Get required for rooting Xiaomi mi4c (without PC)

#1. ADB and Fastboot Zip
#2. twrp.img file
#3. Install ADB latest 1.4 drivers

Get all these files.

STEP 1. Download the files and extract adb and fastboot zip on your desktop, it will create a folder where the file will be excreted. Rename the folder Anything

STEP 2. Now extract twrp.img zip and put the recovery.img file inside the Folder (Step #1 /in same adb and fastboot folder.)

STEP 2 (a). Place the Supersu zip inside your SD CARD.

STEP 3. Now it’s time to plug your Xiaomi mi4i to the computer, wait while Windows install the drivers (optional).

And if you observe a no driver install situation you need to Install ADB Driver ( Download #3)

STEP 4. Now you need to enter in your phones Fastboot mode (it’s required because it enable transfer directly to phones system to install CWM img file)

After mi4i connected to PC successful, and it shows ADB Driver installed. Now turn off your phone and start it by pressing Power button + Volume Down button at the same time. It will open Fastboot mode.

(method 2 – start phone by power button + volume up button and choose fastboot mode)

STEP 5. Now open the folder (remember Step #1) and press Shift and right click and select ‘open command prompt from here’ option.

” Open the folder and Press Keyboard’s SHIFT button then + Mouse’s Right Button. You will see an additional option “Open Commend prompt”

It will open comment prompt windows box.

Now type – fastboot devices

It will tell you if your phone is connected via fastboot mode.

Now type – ( before check that you placed Download #2 and moved the twrp.img file to the folder.)

fastboot boot twrp.img

Or

fastboot flash revcovery twrp.img

There are 2 options,

(1) Temporary Recovery Method:  the recovery will not be flashed, i.e. This will not replace your stock recovery.

Copy this line and paste it in the command prompt by right click and select paste.

fastboot boot twrp.img

Wait some seconds. The device will now restart into recovery.
Select install update from zip and select SuperSU.zip from your sdcard.
Finally, restart the device and enjoy root.

(2) Permanent Recovery Method:  the twrp recovery will be flashed on your existing stock recovery, i.e. This will replace your stock recovery.

Copy this line and paste it in the command prompt by right click and select paste.

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

  • Unplug the USB cable and start the device into recovery mode by:
  • Press and hold Volume UP + Power-on button.

Wait some seconds. The device will now start into recovery.

  • Select to SuperSU.zip file
  • Swipe to flash

Reboot to system. your phone is rooted with supersu!!

  3. When i Choose Swipe to flash ..it says there is no OS install are you Sure to reboot .
    And i Choose Swipe to flash but it did’nt work my phone screen is restarting again and again with showing Mi Logo in it !
    please help!!

    1. I think you mistakenly wiped “the user data and system,” If you were not flashing a custom ROM, you’ll have to Download a Fastboot ROM and flash is using the Tool, Xiaomi provides.
